Childhood memories:                                                  My father´s much loved BMW 520 (E12)

My father proudly bought this off a bank director and I could sense as a child, this was special to my dad. My regular seat was the rear bench behind the driver´s seat, my sister seated behind my mother - journeys that took us to my grandparents for easter and in autumn, to Croatia (or then Yugoslavia) for summer vacations. He loved driving,and pushing it, enjoyed its performance. Its registration was the first I learned by heart and still remember. Its sound, I aimed to imitate so well by humming while whistling. The shared passion impressed my father so much, I received a model that next easter. It was my first scaled-down car, so detailed that using it as a toy was just wrong, probably my first ever real model.

This christmas (2025) it will be my turn to return the gift to my dad to commemorate happy days.
